Being in front of the camera can be intimidating, whether you’re a business professional, model, doctor, or actor. My goal as a Nashville headshot photographer is to not only capture an amazing portrait of you, but to make the entire process stress-free, fun, and even build a little confidence along the way! I want you to LOVE your portrait and show off just how amazing you look.
These six tips will help you prepare for your next headshot session.
1. SET A REMINDER - Add the date, time, and location of your session to your calendar.
2. GET INSPIRED - Share examples of the style of photos you are looking to have done. Pinterest is a great resource for this!
3. MAKE A LIST AND CHECK IT TWICE - Some things to bring with you include: Dressy and Casual Clothing Options | Shoes | Accessories | Props
4. STAY PRESSED - Prep your clothing by making sure your outfits are clean, hang up clothing to keep wrinkles to a minimum, bag your accessories, and polish your shoes if they need it
5. TAKE A LITTLE OFF THE TOP - If you are wanting to have your hair cut and/or dyed for your photos, be sure to do so 1 - 2 weeks prior to your scheduled photo session.
6. MANIS, AND PEDIS, AND SMILES ... OH MY! - Take time to ensure that your nails are clean and manicured. If they are polished take care of any chipping. Brush and floss your teeth prior to your session.
Honing in on what makes you unique, along with the defining the overall message you are wanting to convey with your headshot, goes with our ultimate goal of bringing out your personality in your portrait.
From posing, location, wardrobe, hair and makeup, and everything in between, each detail will be finalized before you step in front of the lens.
